Who Uses Vibrators?
With the use of sex toys on the increase and sales of vibrators clearly on the increase every year precisely who uses vibrators and how regularly are they being used?
Up to the commencement of the twenty-first Century there wasn’t any truly accurate findings on hand into which people used vibrators. The sole point of information until that came from the sex stores that sold them. Recently adult sex toys have not only become more popular amongst ordinary people but also within celebrity culture with everyone from Hollywood film starts to vocalists saying have used, or do use vibrators at some stage of their lives. In 2009 more thorough study into the use of vibrators was undergone by a team at Indiana University. The inquiries that were carried out brought about much more accurate feedback on precisely who used them, when they were used, if the vibrators were cleaned after use and much more.
The research found that just short of 50% of the respondents said they had used a vibrator with males making up 45% while women just topped that with 52%. Why were they being used? Forty-six percent of females used vibrators whilst masturbating compared to the equivalent in males of less than seventeen%. Women also used their vibes during lovemaking (thirty-seven percent) whilst 40% of males used a vibrator on their partners throughout intercourse or foreplay. Almost half of the males surveyed that have used a vibe had first used a vibe to help their partner reach climax.
It was also intriguing to denote that men and women who used vibrators with some degree of regularity felt more comfortable and took more care of their bodies. People that had used vibrators were a lot more liable to have performed vaginal and testicular examinations when compared to the people that had never used a vibrating sex toy.
When it came to cleaning sex toys there were some quite alarming results. 20% of males and 14% of women said that they had never cleaned their toys. From the people that do clean their adult sex toys only 60% of women and just over fifty percent of men clean them before and after use with the remainder admitting to only cleaning their toys either prior to or following use.
A considerable number of people don’t consider that there could be side effects connected with vibrator use but even though uncommon, it can occur. Males were not questioned but females noted that more than seventy percent had never suffered from any after effects but of the other thirty%, more than 15 percent had reported feeling numb, 10 percent had suffered a kind of irritability, eight% denoted swelling and four percent had experienced either cuts or pain. All of the side effects had been comparatively minor and brief.
The age which people were when they first used a vibrator varied. Almost 20 percent were under the age of twenty, fifty% were in their 20s, over 20% were in their thirties whilst the most unpopular age of first use for those surveyed was the 40s and above with only 10%. On the whole women were more likely to use vibrators than men. Other facts of interest were that the greater number of vibrator users were light skinned and females that are in a relationship use vibrators more than single females.
